Slow-Cooker Rotisserie-Style Chicken Recipe for Tender Meat

Lately I’ve noticed Crock Pot rotisserie chicken recipes all over Pinterest. At first I was skeptical—rotisserie-style chicken from a slow cooker sounded too good to be true.

I love rotisserie chicken, though, and I didn’t want to buy another appliance just to try it. After reviewing several variations, I developed a simple method that delivers fantastic results.

The trick is to crisp the skin under the broiler first to lock in juices, then finish cooking the bird in the slow cooker. The result was astonishing: moist, tender, falling-off-the-bone chicken with a nicely browned exterior. In my opinion, it tasted better than many store-bought rotisserie chickens.

One important note: the nutrition information and Weight Watchers points shown are calculated for the whole chicken with the skin removed, then divided into eight servings. Your values may vary depending on which pieces you eat (breast, thigh, wing, etc.), so for the posted nutrition data remove the skin before measuring.

This is one of the best slow cooker chicken recipes for anyone following Weight Watchers or seeking a low-calorie, low-fat option.
