Kentucky Mule Cocktail Recipe: How to Make a Classic Bourbon Mule

Some weeks fly by while others drag on. Does that capture how your week felt?

There are weeks when mornings never quite feel long enough and the snooze button seems defeated before it finishes its job. This was one of those weeks for us.

Mike and I have been counting down to Friday since Sunday night. After two weeks off, our first week back to the daily routine felt especially long. I was even too tired for my usual glass of wine at the end of the day. I like to read before bed to unwind, but this week I barely made it through a single page before drifting off.

Five o’clock can’t come soon enough today. If you’re feeling the same way, I have a grown-up treat that’s perfect for easing into the weekend.

One of my top five go-to cocktails is the Moscow Mule. Lately, I’ve been leaning toward whiskey and bourbon, so I decided to switch it up. Ginger beer and lime make such a bright, versatile base that they pair beautifully with plenty of spirits—whiskey included. If you enjoy the classic mule, you’ll love this variation.

Take a deep breath, put on something comfortable, grab a snack, and pour yourself a cocktail. You earned it.

  3. Top each glass with about 6 ounces of ginger beer, stir gently, and enjoy.
