Brownie Batter Peanut Butter Recipe — a homemade peanut butter that tastes just like brownie batter! Fewer than five ingredients and no added sugar.

Happy Saturday! I hope you’re cozy with a warm drink and your comfiest sweatpants — the perfect weekend setup.

This month I contributed a special recipe to Recipe Redux. Our assignment: Favorite Chocolate Matches. With Valentine’s chocolate likely hanging around, the brief was to pair chocolate with your favorite healthy partner. My pick? The obvious classic: chocolate and peanut butter.

If my other chocolate-peanut butter creations didn’t give it away, this pairing was a no-brainer. Chocolate and peanut butter belong together — whether mixed, swirled, or spooned straight from the jar.

After seeing a chocolate almond butter version, I wanted to make a peanut butter version with my own twist. The result is thick, rich, and exactly like brownie batter — without sugars, oils, flours, or raw-egg concerns. Seriously, give me a spoon.

- Author: Sinful Nutrition
- Yield: ~½ cup
Ingredients
- ½ cup natural peanut butter
- 3 tbsp cocoa powder
- 2 tsp stevia
- ½ tsp espresso powder
- 3–4 tbsp warm water
Instructions
- Combine all ingredients except the water in a small bowl.
- Add warm water one tablespoon at a time until you reach your desired consistency.
- Serve with graham crackers, apple slices, bananas, or spread on toast.
- Store in the refrigerator for up to one week.

This version is on the thicker side, which makes it feel more like brownie batter and is easier to scoop. If you prefer a looser spread, add more warm water a tablespoon at a time until it’s the texture you like.

The espresso powder is optional but highly recommended — it brightens and deepens the chocolate flavor. A small pinch goes a long way to make the cocoa taste more intense and truly brownie-like.

Now grab a spoon, fire up a favorite show, and enjoy some safe-to-eat brownie batter. Sharing is encouraged, but not required.
Make it a great day!
